Lando Norris has said that "every point counts" in the 2025 season, gearing up for a title battle between teammate Oscar Piastri and Red Bull's Max Verstappen as he previews the upcoming Bahrain Grand Prix.
After just races in the 2025 Formula 1 season, there have been three different race winners, with Norris winning the Australian Grand Prix, Piastri taking victory at the Chinese Grand Prix, and Max Verstappen taking P1 at the Japanese Grand Prix, while Lewis Hamilton also had sprint race joy in Shanghai.
The competitiveness of the season highlights the importance of giving up every point possible, and Norris will be looking to get back to winning ways in the Middle East.
“Bahrain up next! I’m excited to be racing here this weekend. It’s the first evening race of the season, so I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in different conditions to what we’ve had so far," the Brit said.
Norris showed himself to be the early title favourite after dominating the first race of the season in Melbourne, backing up the impressive winter testing McLaren had at the Bahrain International Circuit in February.
However, in Shanghai just a week later, it was Piastri who had the pace to take the victory and put his hat into the title-challenging ring, with Hamilton also taking the sprint race win.
Verstappen then got himself back onto the top step of the podium at Suzuka, converting a stunning pole position into a race win, finishing ahead of Norris and Piastri.
"We've hit a good momentum with back-to-back podiums," continued Norris, knowing that a second win of the season will be vital.
"We're so early into the season, but we can already see that every point counts. And that's what we'll continue to aim for - a fun race and more points in the bag. Let's go!"
Piastri will also be looking for a second win in three races by taking the top spot in Bahrain on Sunday to reignite his title credentials.
“It has been three very encouraging race weekends so far in 2025. I’ve felt like I’ve had very strong pace, and I’m taking real momentum with me to Bahrain.
“The car feels great, so credit to the team for all the hard work. I’m looking forward to getting down to business at the track,” concluded the Australian.
