Fernando Alonso expects the Portuguese Grand Prix to be a completely different challenge to Bahrain and Imola. The Spaniard has never driven an F1-race on the circuit of Portimao.
Alonso did not race in Formula 1 last season, and will therefore race for the first time at Portimao this weekend. He did test here once in very wet conditions, so the Spaniard expected a tough challenge this weekend.
"It will be a totally different challenge this weekend in Portimao compared to Bahrain and Imola. The circuit is very fun to drive and I think in these modern Formula One cars it will be very exciting," said Alonso in a press release from his team.
In Imola Alonso scored his first point of the season after finishing tenth in his Alpine. The first points finish of his return to Formula 1 has left him hungry for more: "We want to score more points this weekend," he concluded.
