Rookie Kimi Antonelli has now completed his first five F1 Grands Prix of his career. Team principal Toto Wolff is encouraged by the Italian's progress so far.
The Austrian is pretty satisfied with the Antonelli's first five races in Formula 1.
"I think this is a good point to summarize the first five events and see where he stands. I'm really happy, the trajectory is right. There haven't been any kamikaze movements. He's been consistently learning over the weekends. He's been, interestingly, always very fast when it comes to the end of the weekend and it seems he gets on top of the car, on top of how to drive the tyres," he praised the Italian to GPblog among others.
"He is 100% on target. Now we need to see as the European season starts now, or soon, he doesn’t know Miami, but after that we’ll have a pretty clear picture. In the more natural habitat of the races he knows, it’s going to impact the performance. But I'm happy," the CEO and team principal of Mercedes added.
After five rounds have been completed, Antonelli is currently in P6 in the drivers' standings, earning 38 points so far. After his first tripleheader in the competition has now also been completed, while the young driver needs to have some rest, he is also flying to Mercedes' factory to prepare for the weekend in Miami.
