Never before seen footage: How Antonelli heard he was replacing Hamilton

Andrea Kimi Antonelli's voyage into F1, from hearing from Toto Wolff he would be taking over Lewis Hamilton's seat, to his preparation for the 2025 F1 season, will be able to be seen in the upcoming documentary film, The Seat, a trailer for which has been shared by Mercedes.

For Antonelli the rumours of a promotion to F1 started with the decision to have him skip F3 and go directly to F2. Despite undergoing a tough learning season in the feeder series, and the very vocal interest Wolff expressed regarding Max Verstappen last year, the Italian youngster was nevertheless signed as Hamilton's replacement for 2025.

In the trailer many highlight moments are seen, like his FP1 crash at Monza, his physical preparation and also the call he received from Wolff himself to let him know he would be making his debut for Mercedes in 2025.

The Seat is available on Netflix from May 5th.
