The F1 movie Lewis Hamilton is producing, starring Brad Pitt, will have yet another element that will add to the realism: the voices of Sky Sports' David Croft and Martin Brundle.
For Hamilton it's always been essential that the authenticity of the film was up to F1 fans' standards. When discussing the commentary for the racing action that is set to take part in the film, "F1", the 7-time world champion knew exactly who it should be.
“He [Hamilton] said, ‘If you want to make it authentic commentary, you need Martin and Crofty’. I really appreciated that," said Croft in an interview with The Times.
Delving a little bit into their work in the film, the British commentator said: “Martin and I, we’ve done five or six sessions, including filming in a commentary box. Hopefully it sounds as authentic as a normal commentary because they did allow Martin and I to veer off script and call it how we’d call it, which is great.”
The film was shot on location during several Grand Prix wekeends across 2023 and 2024. Although, due to the film industry's strikes the footage shot during season that saw Max Verstappen and Red Bull dominate relentlessly had to be abandoned for the most part, forcing the team to reshoot substantial parts of it across the 2024 season.
The movie is set to hit theaters 25 June, 2025.
