A remarkable message from the paddock at Zandvoort. Alpine announced that Jack Doohan will drive alongside Pierre Gasly for 2025. Mick Schumacher - who also has close ties with Alpine - is said to have found out about this news through Instagram. As a result, Ralf Schumacher is not happy with the French racing team.
"That's just not possible at all," Ralf Schumacher told Sky Sports Germany. According to the former Formula 1 driver, Alpine could have informed Mick Schumacher personally. Currently, he competes as a reserve driver for Mercedes and is still chasing a seat for 2025, while he also has a seat in one of the Alpine cars that is competing in WEC.
"At the end of the day, for my part, I am not giving up. There are still two seats open and we have to keep working and keep pushing. For us, it's just a matter of keeping pushing and keeping working. Hopefully with a good result at the end of the year," Mick Schumacher revealed. Currently, Mercedes and Sauber (Audi) still have a seat available.
Schumacher drove for Haas in 2021 and 2022. After that, he had to make way for Nico Hulkenberg. The 25-year-old German himself has stated several times that he is not yet done with Formula 1 and is still aiming for a permanent seat in the competition.
