Andy Cowell, the CEO and team principal of Aston Martin, gave a diplomatic answer when asked about the Max Verstappen transfer rumour in Jeddah.
Rumours of Verstappen leaving Red Bull Racing are ever-present in the media. Former Toro Rosso (now called Racing Bulls) team principal Franz Tost, who was at the helm when the Dutchman made his F1 debut, sees him going to Aston Martin if he makes a switch.
Asked whether these rumours can destabilise the Silverstone-based team, team principal Cowell said: "We're incredibly fortunate that we've got two experienced drivers signed for the next two years. And that means I can just focus on trying to help improve the business and the art of making a fast race car."
Then, the Briton was asked about whether Verstappen would have room at the team for the 2026 season. Cowell once again did not go into too much detail. “I'm saying that my head's full of improving the company so that we can make a fast race car for Lance and Fernando," he concluded.
