Amidst the many transfer rumours, Max Verstappen is simply hoping the planned Imola updates give Red Bull Racing the much needed performance they are currently lacking.

With the way things have been going for the Austrian team, the upgrades should provide the the solutions to the problems that currently afflict the RB21, both in terms of car behaviour and performance."We hope so, yes. But you know, every weekend there are always some things happening, and here and there you make improvements to the car.

"Some circuits suit us better than others. I think that, generally, we lack some performance compared to McLaren – especially. But yeah, I think everyone is in the same boat in that regard," Verstappen replied to media present at Jeddah, including GPblog.

So, an 'all hands on deck' period for Red Bull Racing who are currently pushing in the same direction. "That has been the case for a while. But now, of course, we have to try to extract that performance, to find it. Updates need to come to shift that balance."

Schumacher claims Imola is the deadline for Verstappen to decide on his F1 future

Former racing driver turned pundit, Ralf Schumacher, suggests that reigning Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen could potentially move to a new team, naming Mercedes, McLaren, and notably, Alpine, as possible destinations.

The German analyst highlighted existing connections between Verstappen's family and Alpine's executive adviser, as well the team's use of Mercedes engines.
