For Red Bull Racing it was a gruelling race weekend in Bahrain, as the RB21's performance was flaring with several issues. A crisis meeting was held right after the F1 race, with Helmut Marko stating the Austrians know not what ails their F1 car.

Immediately after the Grand Prix of Bahrain, Christian Horner, Helmut Marko, Technical Director Pierre Waché, and Chief Engineer Paul Monaghan gathered in the hospitality area of Red Bull Racing for a crisis meeting. The dramatic result in Bahrain would have been the subject of discussion, as Max Verstappen was unable to fight at the front and Yuki Tsunoda barely managed to make it into the points.

Marko rings the alarm after Bahrain

After the Grand Prix, Marko mentioned that the team is unsure where the problems are coming from. "Our car is just not balanced. We don't know what's wrong with it," Marko told the German branch of Sky Sports.

In addition, Max Verstappen experienced two slow pit stops. The Dutchman was not happy about this. "If then also two pit stops go wrong, Max's mood also goes off."

The Austrian drew a painful conclusion. "With such a performance, the championship won't come together."

Marko spoke about persistent structural problems at Red Bull. "It's a difficult phase, but the technical staff need to sit down and openly address the problems and then try to get out of this slump together. It's not about the race here, but the problems have been there for a long time, and we're just going in circles."

The Red Bull advisor then explained that it mainly comes down to one area of the car. "But I think it's mainly the aerodynamics."

After the Grand Prix of Miami, the European leg of the season begins. Marko hopes that the Austrian team can make progress then. "In the short term, nothing can be done about the technical [aspect]. But when we're in Europe, there will hopefully be progress," said Marko.
