Following the Arabian Grand Prix, Williams driver Alex Albon caught a ride back home to Monaco in Max Verstappen's plane. Only after the arrangements had been made, did the Thai driver learn of how the Dutchman had lost the race due to a penalty.
For Albon and Williams, it was a strong weekend in Jeddah, since he and teammate Carlos Sainz finished P9 and P8 respectively, earning a double points finish at the flag for the Grove-based team. For the Thai driver's former teammate at Red Bull Racing, Max Verstappen, the result was less satisfactory.
Due to the penalty the Dutchman received from the Stewards, Oscar Piastri beat him to the line, something Verstappen was not particularly happy about.
Following the race, Albon disclosed his travel arrangements in conversation with Viaplay. He said, " I'm actually flying with Max today."
It was then that the Viaplay host revealed to Albon the way the race had gone for Verstappen, prompting the Williams driver to ask, "Where did he finish?"
Logically, since Verstappen had qualified on pole yesterday, Albon was then intrigued by how his former Red Bull teammate had lost P1. Upon hearing the answer, Albon quipped, "I'll go to bed then. I'll sleep on that plane."
