The United States Grand Prix is another race weekend with a sprint format. This means on Saturday in the Sprint Shootout drivers will be vying for their starting positions for the Sprint later in the day. Don't miss any of the action from the Sprint Shootout in Austin, Texas, with this live blog.
On Friday, it was Charles Leclerc who led the way in qualifying for the United States Grand Prix. The Monegasque did not actually finish with the fastest time, but Max Verstappen, who lapped five thousandths faster than the Ferrari driver, exceeded track limits in the final sector and lost his pole-sitting time, handing it to Leclerc.
On Saturday, Verstappen will get a second chance during the sprint shootout. During this qualification, there are again three qualifying 'shootouts', but the sessions are considerably shorter than normal qualifying. The result of the Sprint Shootout will determine the starting grid for the Sprint later this evening. The Shootout will start at 18:30 BST on Saturday 21 October.
