Round five of the 2025 Formula 1 season brings the F1 circus to Jeddah for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, with Max Verstappen finding yet another superb lap to take pole position. Can he hold on for a second win of the season, or can Oscar Piastri or George Russell make something happen from behind?

Verstappen takes another stunning pole while Norris falters

It will be Max Verstappen who will lead the 20 cars away from their grid slots on Sunday around the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, with the Dutchman putting together a stunning lap, just like he did at the Japanese Grand Prix, to put his RB21 on pole.

Behind him is Oscar Piastri in the McLaren, the dominant car so far in 2025, and he will be looking to pile all sorts of pressure on Verstappen to get his third win of the season in just the fifth race of the campaign.

George Russell, who has also made a fine start to 2025 with three podiums in four races, will also be looking to try something and aim for his first win of the season in his Mercedes, with Charles Leclerc and teammate Kimi Antonelli behind him.

Carlos Sainz took a fantastic P6 for Williams in a real turnaround of form after struggling early on, while Lewis Hamilton, the man who replaced the Spaniard, could only put his Ferrari seventh fastest. Yuki Tsunoda in the other Red Bull lines up in P8, with Pierre Gasly in P9.

Rounding out the top ten is championship leader Lando Norris, whose crash at the beginning of Q3 meant he did not get the chance to set a lap and confined him to P10, meaning he will have a lot of work to do to challenge for the podium and the race win.
