Ferrari took the time today to let some young talents test the 2018 SF71-H. Of the three drivers, Robert Shwartzman was clearly the fastest. Giuliani Alesi and Marcus Armstrong also made their appearance in Ferrari red.
Shwartzman made a big impression on Ferrari's Fiorano test track. The young Russian improved his September time by over half a second in the same car, reports the Italian branch of Motorsport.com. Shwartzman drove a total of about fifty laps.
Alesi and Armstrong drove a lot less laps: both were around fifteen laps. Alesi was the first driver of the day and therefore had to contend with a smoother track than his colleagues.
Shwartzman is seen as one of the great talents who will compete for the championship in Formula 2 with the Prema team in 2021. In 2020, the Russian will be a teammate of Mick Schumacher, who will drive for Haas in Formula 1 this year.
