An early red flag has neutralised the session at the 11:01 minute mark as Esteban Ocon drove his Haas into the outside barriers of Turn 3, effectively ending his session prematurely.

As the Frenchman exited Turn 2 and lined up his VF-25 to take the Turn 3 kink, the rear of his Haas went around him propelling him backwards into the wall on the outside of Turn 3.

His rear left suspension was destroyed, and any damage to the PU and gearbox are yet to be discarded.

Nico Hulkenberg when told of the accident via the radio replied "That's where I nearly lost it."

Ocon's teammate, will start the race tomorrow in P20, so with the Frenchman's crash, it is safe to say it was not the qualifying Haas expected or hoped for.

The session has since been resumed.
