Pierre Gasly had a brief taste of the big time at Red Bull Racing after Daniel Ricciardo 's departure, but Helmut Marko ended the adventure prematurely. Gasly hopes for a second chance alongside Max Verstappen, but it is unclear to him what the Austrian management's plans are.
With the AlphaTauri team the Frenchman quickly recovered and this year Gasly is also in form. He managed to qualify in the top-six six for the first eight Grands Prix of 2021. Gasly's good performances stand out, although he was often unlucky on Sundays this year.
The 25-year-old driver is in principle still tied to AlphaTauri next year. "At the moment I don't know what Marko wants, if they want to take me back, if they want me to stay at AlphaTauri, if they are willing to release me to another team. There is interest [from other teams]," he said at the press conference.
Which racing teams might be interested in Gasly's services is not known. What is true is that many teams already have their line-up in place for 2022. McLaren, Ferrari and Alpine have already filled their seats for 2022.
